Despite I grew up not so far away from the beer metropolis of Munich, it was and is still wine that increasingly inspired me over the course of time. At first wine has been only a companion of menus but over the time I learned to appreciate its varieties and expressions in many wine tastings. Already at the time of my professional life in neurobiology and pharmaceutical marketing, I started learning more about the fascinating diversity of wine, its styles and its aromes through wine tours and wine seminars.
After the successful completion of the Advanced Certificate of the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust), a worldwide respected institution, I started with my partial retirement the study at the Wine Academy Austria in Rust (Burgenland) with the WSET “Diploma in Wines and Spirits”, an entry qualification to study the Master of Wine (MW). After the successful exams end of 2013, I may call myself Weinakademiker. My diploma thesis, a theme dealing with a french sweet wine , brought me close to the world of sweet wines.
