The Kozlović family has been growing wine in Istria—specifically in the Vale Valley near Momjan—since 1904. The estate cultivates around 30 hectares of vineyards, planted predominantly with indigenous grape varieties. International varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot round out the selection.

The Traminac Mirisavi Ledena Berba 2012 from the Erdut winery, which we tasted, was a gift from our good friend Babs, who moved to Croatia for love a little over 30 years ago and still lives near Zagreb.
The sweet wine Prošek, pronounced Proschek, is rare in Germany under this name, because Croatia has forgotten to protect this product name with its joining of the EU. Although not to be confused with Prosecco, the name Prošek can only be used in Croatia because of its similarity to Prosecco.
